- Straddle invert, hook same-side knee
- Bring free knee into chest, lead foot, toes first, in front of the pole and rest pole in arch of foot
- Pull up putting weight into the newly placed foot, pole is tight on same side as placed foot
- Pull high on pole, lifting free leg up to meet the pole, placing the pole tension on the outside of the foot
- Let go and pose
- Grab high on pole, lift up, stand on placed foot to climb
