Bat Hang

  • From the ground, stand tall and stretch arms above your head, mark this on the silk and climb at least as high as your mark, better yet, one more climb
  • Arms in strong position, release foot break and bring both feet in front of the tails
  • Continue to bring one foot all the way around the silk (as if you were making a foot break) and match the other foot will at the ankles (one foot will be wrapped by the tails, the other will be on top of the tails
  • Swivel the foot on top to wrap a foot break in the opposite direction, now both ankles are wrapped, the original wrapped ankle is now resting on top of the tails (this is ONE set of wraps)
  • Repeat motion to create a second set of wraps
  • HINT: The motion is as if you are creating tiny eggbeaters, alternating sides and ending up with two eggbeaters on each ankle (you can do only one set of wraps, but it isn’t as secure, not advised for beginners)
  • Squeeze ankles together, flex feet, and fall backwards (you can also walk it down)
  • To exit, big sit-up (you can pull on tail to aid in the sit-up if needed), place hands on pole above feet, push knees forward while pointing toes hard towards floor
  • Heels to bottom, pole to belly, re-grab high on pole and pull up, release and shake feet to drop tails
