- Climb, single foot lock with silks together
- Split silks, posse free leg and bring body to middle of the poles
- Release pole in hand opposite that of the locked foot and bring that hand and shoulder through the middle of the poles, rotating body towards locked foot 1/4 turn so that the pole on the locked foot’s side is on your belly and the other one is in your back (this is a partial rotation)
- Grab the pole in front of your body at eye height
- Straighten free leg out to the side and point it towards the floor, lower upper body by straightening arms
- Rotate hips to face ceiling while bringing free ankle to the locked ankle
- Look and locate the two poles that are 1) on the outside of the locked foot and 2) on the inside of the locked foot
- Bring free foot up, around and over the pole that is on the inside of the locked leg, placing side of free foot low on pole that is closer to locked foot, and guide “outer” pole down towards the ankle
- Reposition free ankle higher up on the pole and push with foot while pulling up, place belly on front silk (this is one full rotation)
- Repeat for a second full rotation
- If your back is feeling ok (depends on individual flexibility as well as position on silks) you may do a third rotation, this time, just bringing leg into posse (free toe to “locked” knee) and rotate a third time (no pushing of the poles down legs) for a third full rotation
- Rest belly on silk, pose, let go when you find balance
- To exit, place hands on front pole at eye level, point free toe to “locked” knee (helps prevent getting hooked on the exit)
- Rotate back out, counting rotations, in this case, three full rotations, plus the partial rotation between the silks, bringing you back to the start position of both poles together in front of you, remove footlock
