Sumo Drop

  • Climb high up silk and do one Big Russian climb
  • Stand with tails draped over top thigh, split poles, drop bottom back a little, and bring top knee from one side of the poles to the other
  • Keep the hand that is holding the pole on the side that you’re knee is on, let go of the pole with the hand that is holding the pole that is farthest from the knee
  • Bring the free hand around to the same side as the knee, then in front of the pole and re-grab the same pole it was holding but on the front side, thumbs pointing up
  • Fix grip of the hand that was holding on the whole time, as it is probably a bit twisted, verify you did not lose the tails that were draped over your thigh
  • Straddle invert, dropping foot from the silks, crochet legs, bend knees
  • Release hands on poles to drop slack (you can walk this down if you prefer)
  • To Exit, straddle back, to free legs from poles, arch and straighten body to upright position, grabbing poles as you straighten
  • Place both hands on same pole (the pole that is on the side of the thigh wrap, same as the original thigh holding the tails, but if you look down, you’ll see the thigh wrap) and bring shoulders through the middle of the poles
  • Lean back and key over towards the pole
  • Unwrap the silk from your belly, grip poles and sit up, shake silks off
