Swan
- Climb, single footlock with silks together
- Sink bottom down as you bring the free leg between your body and the poles, go past the locked foot, and over the pole
- Place back of knee of free leg as high as you can, close to your top hand on the pole, squeeze pole with knee
- Release same-side hand as the hooked knee and hold ankle, pressing it towards your bottom, this is what will hold you on the silk, so press hard (it can be quite pinchy)
- Release remaining hand, hang, pose
- To Exit, big sit-up, grab pole with free hand above the knee (if you grab below it will cause the silk to fold and your top knee to slip, do not grab the silk between the locked foot and the hooked knee)
- Match hands on the pole, unhook knee and undo footlock
Hands-Free Swan
- Flamenco opposite-side (of the foot that is locked) hand high on poles
- Dive same-side hand through triangle created by the pole, opposite hand, and body
- Guide shoulders and upper body through so that pole is placed along the back (this is similar to Arabesque)
- Bend the free knee and hook it high on the poles
- Squeeze knee hard and let go of hands, pose
- To Exit, big sit-up, grab poles above the knee, unhook knee, re-grip as needed and swivel back to starting position
