- Make a knot around the height of your mid-back
- Separate silks, put them on like a backpack, place hands low on the poles
- Sink weight into the silk, placing the knot at the lower back just above your bottom
- First step is to try with frog-legs (bend legs and place bottoms of feet together)
- Loosen grip and place hands flat on poles at shoulder height
- At the same time, lean back, push flat hands into poles, lift frog-legs up to the poles, find balance, and pose in a straddle (this is a knot straddle split position)
- To exit, place hands back on the poles, resume frog-legs, lever feet back towards ground while lifting chest up, keeping speed under control
- Second step is to try with straight legs
- This time, legs together and straight
- Straddle legs as you invert and exit, everything else will be the same
