Snake Wrap

  • Climb silks and straddle invert with silks together, hook same-side knee on poles
  • Keep grip strong with same-side hand of the knee that is hooked, release the opposite hand off the poles and grab the tails (thumbs pointing down towards ground) coming from the back, and place on inside of elbow/upperarm
  • Unhook the knee, control the speed as you allow legs to come together, legs will point towards the floor and the body becomes upright
  • Keep hand on tails strong and in front of body
  • With ankles together, sweep legs in a circular motion, starting with the side away from the top hand, bend knees and grab silks in the knee pits
  • Release bottom hand and re-grab tails from behind the knees, pull tails so that they are above the bottom, end with lower hand grasping tails in front of body close to the hip area
  • Lower the top arm into a straightened position, body will lever forwards
  • Release top hand and bring it immediately to meet the other hand on the tails
  • You may hook your trailing leg to stop your motion and exit the skill OR
  • As you are rotating bring tails over belly, creating the final s-wrap, complete as many wheeldowns as you want with space given, re-hook trailing knee when complete
  • Unwrap the tummy, sit up and reach for poles under the knee, unhook the knee, lever body to upright position, release silks
This video shows a stop in the middle of the initial drop and the added wheeldown. You can stop completely, stop and go as in the video, or skip the stop and go directly into wheeldown.
