Cradle Crossback

  • Separate silks and create equal footlocks or eggbeater legs 3 times
  • Bring body through middle of poles, release one hand from one pole, keeping the other hand strong on its pole
  • Lean body forward in plank, parallel to the ground
  • Push open hips as you rotate around the pole you are still holding onto, bend knees into opposite pole
  • Bring free hand to match hand already on pole, climb a little with hands
  • Release original-hand that was on this pole and guide it through the triangle formed by your new-hand on the pole, the pole, and your body, bring shoulder and head through, placing the pole (now under armpit) along back
  • Release hand from pole, bring arm around so that back pole is now under the newly-released hand’s armpit, regrab pole high, pose (this is cradle)
  • Bring free hand to the free pole, pull up on both poles, straighten legs out and towards the floor, placing “X” onto lower back
  • To exit, grab the pole that is closest to your back, release the other pole, allowing silk to pop off the shoulder, regrab poles for comfort, undo footlocks or eggbeaters
