Knee Lock 3 Ways

Knee Lock 1*
  • Split silks, bring both legs through the middle of the silks
  • Sweep one leg forward, out to the side, and behind both tails, swoop tails onto leg, bend knee, and lift high in front
  • Bring free leg behind and under the tails, lift the knee high, taking the silks off of the first leg, bending knee, and place knee behind the same-side pole, pose
  • To exit, grab both poles, tilt back slightly to release bent knee down, shake off silks

* This is not the easiest method, but the one most seem to learn first.

Knee Lock 2
  • Begin with Lady In the Moon
  • Reach opposite hand under the top-bent knee and grab pole, other hand grabs pole behind the back, lower chest down, bringing both legs off silks, you can pose here
  • Bend front leg, bring front foot between the silks, placing knee against the same-side pole, pull to seated position
  • To exit, grab both poles, tilt back slightly to release bent knee down, shake off silks
Knee Lock 3
  • Begin with Hip Key, bend top leg to help balance and keep from slipping, split silks
  • Keeping same-side hand on pole closest to the bent knee, release the opposite hand and bring through middle of silks, matching same-side hand on pole closest to bent knee
  • Bring chest through middle of silks, release opposite hand of bent knee, help guide pole around body, if needed, and bring bent knee behind the moving pole and set knee in place
  • To exit, grab both poles, tilt back slightly to release bent knee down, shake off silks
