Dead Bug

  • Begin with Candy Cane, recommended 2 rotations (1 rotation and you may be too upright and 3 rotations may be too strenuous on the lower back)
  • From Candy Cane, Flamenco the hand (opposite the locked foot) high on the pole in front, dive the free hand (same-side as the locked foot) through the triangle created with the silk and chest, bring chest and shoulders through, resting the silk in the armpit of the hand holding high
  • Bring free leg backwards through the silks, pose using the silk support across the back
  • To Exit: Flamenco grip high on pole supporting the back with the same-side hand as the locked foot, dive opposite hand through the triangle created with the silk and chest, match on pole with Flamenco’d hand
  • Guide silk off back, around shoulders, and to the front of the chest, re-grab poles with regular grips, pull up and onto belly, back into Candy Cane position, exit Candy Cane

*Dead Bug is similar in theory to Arabesque and can be found in many other sequences and skills
